The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is the biggest pan-African recognition for music. Since its inception in 2014, founding partners, International Committee AFRIMA and the African Union (AU) have rewarded and celebrated musical works, talents and creativity around the African continent while promoting the African cultural heritage.
The schedule for the 2022 edition of AFRIMA was unveiled on May 26 during a news conference held at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

According to the presser, submissions will run from May 30 to August 5, with the year-in-review spanning the period from August 20, 2020, to August 5, 2022.
The AFRIMA panel will then start and end pre-screening on August 5 till August 8, 2020, while the main screening will commence on the 9th of August and run through to the 16th.



The nominees of the 2022 AFRIMA Award will be unveiled on August 17, 2022, following the conclusion of the screening process.
When is the 2022 AFRIMA Awards?
A 4-day fiesta to mark the culmination of this year’s award will start on November 3 and end on November 6. Activities will include red carpets, tour of the AFRIMA village as well as the host city, the Africa Music Business Summit, and main Awards show during which winners will announced.
Along with other benefits, winners will walk away with a 23.9 Karat Gold Plated trophy that blends traditional and contemporary elements of music -the African Djembe drum and a microphone.



Fans will be able to follow the live events via the AFRIMA social media handles, stream directly from the AFRIMA website or tune into TV channels pf AFRIMA’s media partners.
AFRIMA’s goal to bridge the gap between the classic and contemporary music forms of Africa and to unite Africa through the celebration all forms of African music irrespective of its era.
