2022 Grammy Awards: Full List of Nominees

Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tems are all nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards. The ceremony will hold on the 31st of January 2022.

The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS; commonly called the Recording Academy) announced the nominees for the 2022 Grammy Awards on Tuesday, November 23.

There were many met expectations but as usual, several surprises and snubs. One-time Grammy Award winning Nigerian musician Burna Boy was among the nominations once again, joined by his fellow countrymen Made Kuti, Femi Kuti, Wizkid, and Tems.

Wizkid and Made Kuti will go head to head in the Best Global Music Album category, with their respective albums- Made In Lagos (Duluxe) and Legacy+. ‘Essence,’ earned Wizkid another nomination, this time for the Best Global Music Performance. Tems, who made a guest appearance on the song bagged her first nomination.

Both her and Wizkid will face-off with Angelique Kidjo and Burna Boy (Do Yourself), Femi Kuti (Pà Pá Pà), Yo-Yo Ma and Angelique Kidjo (Blewu), and Arooj Aftab (Mohabbat) in order to land the award.

Veteran American keyboardist and music director Jon Batistie emerged with the most nominations (11), mostly because of his revolutionary album ‘We Are.’

Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and H.E.R. follow with eight nominations each, and Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo are close behind with seven.
