The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS; commonly called the Recording Academy) announced the nominees for the 2022 Grammy Awards on Tuesday, November 23.

Wizkid and Made Kuti will go head to head in the Best Global Music Album category, with their respective albums- Made In Lagos (Duluxe) and Legacy+. ‘Essence,’ earned Wizkid another nomination, this time for the Best Global Music Performance. Tems, who made a guest appearance on the song bagged her first nomination.

Both her and Wizkid will face-off with Angelique Kidjo and Burna Boy (Do Yourself), Femi Kuti (Pà Pá Pà), Yo-Yo Ma and Angelique Kidjo (Blewu), and Arooj Aftab (Mohabbat) in order to land the award.
