2023 Election: Nollywood’s Mercy Johnson’s Husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie, Wins House Of Representatives Seat In Edo State

Prince Odianosen Okojie has emerged winner of the Esan South-East/Esan North-East Federal Constituency seat of Edo State in the House of Representatives. He is the husband of Nollywood darling, Mercy Johnson-Okojie

This victory follows months of campaign that saw Mercy Johnson also campaign for her husband, publicly.

In the election held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, Prince Okojie, who contested on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, polled a total of 21,764 votes to edge the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate who scored 10,007 and the Labour Party candidate who scored11,528 votes. The results were announced by the Returning Officer for the constituency, Dr Victor Imade, on Sunday.

In response to his victory, Prince Odianosen Okojie posted a video on his social media handle with the caption:

“With gratitude to God Almighty, My Family and the support of the good people of AGBAZILO, I was declared the winner of the Election for the Federal House of Representatives. Esan North-East/Esan South-East federal constituency 2023. Thank you for all your support and love. I am sincerely grateful.”
