Nollywood’s Omoni Oboli and Kate Henshaw have been some of the most vocal artistes during this election season. Reacting to threats received and the general tension felt by citizens, both have taken to their social media to air their views.
Omoni Oboli blew the whistle on a last minute change of her and ~6,000 other people’s polling unit by INEC, accusing the electoral body of trying to disenfranchise them all and putting their safety in the air.
Kate Henshaw, on the other hand, has stated that she cannot be intimidated into voting for a candidate who is not her preferred choice. She captioned her video on her social media handle, “No one, I repeat no one can threaten me!!! I have every right to vote for whomever I want. No amount of abuse & vitriol will stop me from carrying out my civic duty!!
