4 Nollywood Movies to Watch in Cinemas This Christmas

With so many exciting Nollywood movies available and yet to be released in cinemas, you might have a hard time making a choice this Christmas. Ahead are 4 must-see movies available for your viewing pleasure this season.

1. Soòlé

Directed by Kayode Kasum and written by Stephen Okonkwo, Soòlé follows the lives of a group of travelers who meet in a bus on their way home for Christmas. They eventually encounter different situations that change the course of their lives.

The movie stars an ensemble cast including Sola Sobowale, Femi Jacobs, Meg Otanwa, Adedimeji Lateef, Tope Tedela, Saidi Balogun, Shawn Faqua, Adunni Ade, Eso Dike, and Kelechi Udegbe.

2. Aki and Pawpaw

Aki and Pawpaw is a sequel to the 2003 classic Nollywood comedy Aki na Ukwa, which starred veteran Nollywood actors Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) and Osita Iheme (Pawpaw). The sequel will see the duo return to the village after 16 years in search of greener pastures to continue their mischief and antics.

Other cast members include Amaechi Muonagor, Toyin Abraham, Anita Asuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Uti Nwachukwu, Stan Nze and many others.
Aki and Pawpaw would be available in cinemas from December 17, 2021.

3. What happened at St James

Written and produced by Tosin Akintokun, this drama tells the story of three boys Bola Fash, Timi Johnson and Femi Allen, the famous trio at St James Secondary school, who eventually become men and are forced to face a twenty-year-old secret that threatens the order of their present lives and businesses.

The Marc Adebesin directed flick stars Nollywood ace stars, Zack Orji, Femi Branch, Ken Erics, Deyemi Okanlawon, Rachel Oniga, Yemi Sodimualongside Kelechi Udegbe, Nelly Ejianwu, Bolaji Ogunmola, and Chimezie Imo.

4. Christmas in Miami

Christmas in Miami is the fourth instalment of the AKPOS film series created by Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun popularly known as ‘AY’. He is joined by veteran actors, Richard Mofe Damijo(RMD) and Osita Iheme for an new rib-cracking adventure in Miami.
The comedy drama would be available in cinemas from December 24th, 2021.
