According to several reports, plans to make a fourth instalment of the American high-tempo action film ‘Expendables,’ have been set in motion, and 50 Cent and Megan fox are the new headline additions to the cast.
We haven’t seen much music from 50 lately, in fact, he’s been more involved in film and TV than he’s been with music in recent times, contributing significantly to the success of crime-drama series ‘Power.’ 50 also has his own ‘Power’ spinoff in the works titled ‘Black Mafia Family,’ also a crime drama series starring Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and more.
Starring in movies like ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin,’ ‘All Things Fall Apart,’ ‘Freelancers,’ 50 will now be joining the ensemble cast of ‘Expendables 4,’ which is expected to be hit of a blockbuster.
It was just over a decade ago that the first ‘Expendables’ movie dropped, followed by two sequels. The three films grossed over $804 million at the box office, and on Monday (August 30), Deadline reported that a fourth instalment of the series with several of the original cast members re-joining.
“Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Sylvester Stallone, will all reprise their roles as Lee Christmas, Gunner Jensen, Toll Road, and Barney Ross respectively. They will be joined by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Megan Fox, and Tony Jaa according to the reports.
The Hollywood Reporter added that production for this latest Expendables film will begin in October and the plot will once again follow the tale of a “group of veteran mercenaries.” Jason Statham’s character will reportedly be the centre of attention this time around while Fox will portray the female lead.
“It’s so much fun to bring these stars together for a no-holds-barred action film,” said Jason Constantine, president of acquisitions and co-productions for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “The new film will raise the stakes and be the biggest, most badass adventure yet.”
