Popular American rapper-actor 50 Cent has made known his plans to produce a TV series based on the life of popular convicted Nigerian scammer Hushpuppi.
50 Cent made this known via his Instagram page on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022:
“For my scammers I gotta do this one, Hushpuppy series coming soon! GLG🚦GreenLightGang i don’t miss 🎯#bransoncognac #lecheminduroi #gunitfilmandtv”
Ramos Abbas, better known by the moniker Hushpuppi, was arrested in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates in June 2020, for defrauding over 1.9 million people, the majority of whom were Americans. He was extradited to the United States for trial soon after.
A United States District Court in the Central District of California recently sentenced Hushpuppi to 11 years and three months in jail after he was found guilty of laundering proceeds of a school financing scam, business email compromise, and other fraudulent cyber schemes. He’ll also pay $1.7M to two fraud victims
50 Cent’s announcement to make a movie based on Hushpuppi’s life comes after a previous announcement from EbonyLife and Universal Studios acquiring the rights to his life story. How these parties will play ball with each other remains to be seen.
