73-year-old Muslim Politician Marries 25-year-old Lady In Tanzania

A 73-year-old politician is at present stirring waves in Tanzania after news broke on his wedding with his 25-year-old pretty bride.

The former parliamentarian at Urambo constituency in Tanzania, identified as Juma Kapuya, has wedded the beautiful young lady on Sunday, February 17, in a ceremony graced by family and friends.

Photos and videos posted online show the couple exchanging vows in front of a lively crowd as Juma Kapuya said ‘I Do’ to the 25-year-old Mwajuma Mwiniko in the ceremony which was held in line with Muslim customs.

Internet users have reacted to the marriage differently, with some saying the girl has the right to choose whomever she wants to marry since she is above 18.

Others opposed to the marriage said that when Juma’s bride was born, he was two years shy of clocking 50 and was en route to becoming a member of the Tanzanian National Executive Council of the then governing Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party.

However, irrespective of people’s opinion, whilst reporting this news I’m actually still standing on the fence. I’m quite undecided as to either be in support of this action, or otherwise. Albeit, referring to the pictures seen, the lady is obviously happy. Although this happiness hasn’t being confirmed to not have being feigned.
