Award seasons are always a happy time for film lovers. Of the many awards shows out there, the Academy Award (aka The Oscars) reign supreme and easily takes the icing on the cake. Sadly, for fans of Hollywood productions here in Nigeria, we’ve always had to play second fiddle to these broadcasts as we couldn’t tune in live to watch. Well, that’s about to change.
Thanks to DStv, fans of the Academy Award can watch it in real-time this year.
M-Net Movies 1 (DStv Channel 104) and M-Net (DStv Channel 101) will both broadcast the show this Monday, 28 March. Time is 03:00 AM and 21:30 PM, respectively. What this means is that, if you’re a nightcrawler, you can stay up and watch the live broadcast on M-net Movies 1; and if you’d rather go to bed, a re-run will be waiting for you later at night upon your return from work. Sounds like they’ve got you covered.
The 94th Academy Awards will have 3 hosts: comedians Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes.
“This year’s show is all about uniting movie lovers. It’s apropos that we’ve lined up three of the most dynamic, hilarious women with very different comedic styles. Expect the unexpected!” says the show’s producer Will Packer.
DStv recently announced they’ll be increasing the prices of their bouquet, including that of sister cable GOtv come April 1. The Oscars might be a reason to renew your subscription before the due time.
