American actor and rapper, Bryshere Yazuan Gray a.k.a ‘Yazz’, popularly known for his role as Hakeem Lyon on Fox’s series ‘Empire’ has pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault according to TMZ.
The actor was arrested in July last year in connection with domestic violence charges after his wife flagged down a bystander at the local gas station and alleged Gray assaulted her for several hours at their home.
As part of his plea agreement, the actor has been sentenced to 10 days in prison and is required to participate in a probation program for three years.
The 27-year-old has been ordered to pay restitution and in addition, enroll in a domestic violence offender treatment program. During his probation, he is forbidden to consume any illegal drugs and he’ll also have to submit to drug and alcohol testing.
Gray has been nominated for his breakout role and outstanding performance as Hakeem Lyon in the now ended series ‘Empire’ at the BET Awards, NAACP Image Awards and at Teen Choice Awards.
