American rapper and singer 6Lack has shared a new song ‘Since I Have A Lover.’ The R&B record is the first single to arrive off the singer’s highly-anticipated third studio album, which shares the same title with the song and will be 6Lacks’s first major project since 2018’s East Atlanta Love Letter.
Some of his best collaborations in that period have been with Afrobeats stars, including Rema, Wizkid, Omah Lay, and Burna Boy. Vigilant Wizkid fans will fondly remember him for calling Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ the ‘best’ album of the pandemic era.
‘Since I Have A Lover’ features 6Lack’s soulful voice. The song doesn’t offer much in terms of lyricism, but the singer’s silky and melodious vocals deliver the perfect recipe for enchantment. As usual, that’s the hallmark of most of 6Lack’s R&B songs.
The record also arrives with a creative video directed by Andrew Donoho. In the video, Lack levitates through the streets, depicting just how good it can feel to be out there living life, doing your thing again.
‘Since I Have A Lover’ (the album) will arrive on March 24th. The album’s preorder was announced with a small note from 6Lack to his fans, explaining some of the reasons behind his almost-5-year- hiatus, asking them to bear with him, and sharing that it feels good to be back in ‘motion.’
