‘Anikulapo’: Kunle Afolayon’s Epic Fantasy Film Tops List For Most Watched Movies On Naija Netflix For 2022

The streaming statistics site, FlixPatrol, has compiled a list of the most-watched movies on Netflix in Nigeria for the year 2022, and sitting at its top is Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo.

The epic fantasy title released in September clinched the number one spot ahead of films like action comedy, The Adam’s Project, crime documentary, The Tinder Swindler, and Indian epic drama, RRR, all released much earlier in the year.

Anikulapo debuted back in September to rave reviews from both critics and fans, soon becoming the most watched non-English film globally with a total of 8,730,000 views.

No doubt the year 2022 saw the Nigerian movie scene gain a lot more attention both home and broad, and this list comprised of just four international titles out of ten goes to prove that.
