Korean Dramas have become more popular in recent times. Recalling back to years ago when the only way to watch your favorite shows was to purchase the CDs. The dubbers would spread sixteen to twenty episodes into three seasons knowing well enough we would always buy just to see our cherished actors; such a struggle. Thankfully, K-Drama has now been able gather more audience outside Asia, making it a global wave and easier to watch online.
Being a huge fan of K-Dramas ever since watching Lee Min-ho as Goon Joon Pyo in Boys Over Flowers, I can tell you it’s been one hell of a ride. Great story telling, unique characters, very fashionable outfits, captivating OSTs, amazing cinematography and most importantly, their ability to make you cry, scream and laugh hysterically all at once. It’s incredible!
Here’s a list of some popular K-Dramas. If you happen to have watched a few, then you might just qualify to be a stan.
- Boys Over Flowers (2009)
- City Hunter (2011)
- Healer (2014)
- Guardian: The Lonely and Great God/Goblin (2016)
- The Legend of the Blue Sea (2016)
- Descendants of the Sun (2016)
- I’m Not A Robot (2017)
- Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (2017)
- What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim (2018)
- It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (2020)
Finally, if you have watched all ten and even more, it will be reasonable to consider adding Korean to the number of languages you speak. Because, it’s a lot!
