Ariana Grande-Butera is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Her “Sweetener” album in 2018 just went platinum.
Ariana Grande is one of the most successful musicians in the U.S. right now (in the world, truly), and at this point, she has no difficulty charting hit singles and racking up awards that prove how popular her music is. The singer has just earned yet another important honour, but strangely, it comes later than some might have expected.
The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has just certified Grande’s fourth album Sweetener platinum in the U.S. for shipping one million equivalent units between sales and streams. Platinum certification is impressive, especially considering the title was only released about eight months ago, but somehow, Grande’s even-more-recent album has already managed this feat.
Just six months after Sweetener was released, Grande gave fans more of what they want by dropping another full-length, Thank U, Next, which also immediately became a hit. Amazingly, that record, which was released on February 8, was certified both gold and platinum just over one month later on March 15.
