Asake’s making it a habit of not living up to expectations when it comes to shows. The YBNL singer held a show in Birmingham, England, on Saturday night, but had to tender an apology afterwards because fans were dissatisfied with his conduct, and reportedly, his performance.
According to reports, Asake failed to arrive at the venue at the stipulated time, but that didn’t seem to stop him from closing the show early. Aggrieved attendees booed when he eventually arrived on stage and took to social media to call the Organise singer out.
In his apology, he admitted the show promoters were responsible. “Birmingham I’m sorry for the delay yesterday,” he tweeted. “The promoters delayed my pick up time for reasons best known to them, But I’m super grateful for your patience and understanding.”
A couple of months ago, he abruptly ended his show in Baltimore, Maryland, US following briefing from security over fears violence may erupt. But attendees didn’t care, and made their discontent known. Although understandable, given Baltimore and the US’ gun violence epidemic, it’s not an impressive record for a newcomer like Asake.
