The presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar recently unveiled a new social media campaign advert via video platform TikTok. In the video, the former Vice President dances to Davido’s 2022 single Stand Strong featuring American choir, The Samples.
The video begins with Atiku dancing slowly to the tune in a peach-like shirt and a dark pair of trousers. Then a caption popped up saying “Nigeria is in crisis but…”
Next, the 75-year-old transformed into a light-blue agba as another caption “We have a 5 star Recovery Plan!” appeared on screen. The camera then zoomed in as Atiku completed out his moves with a smile.
The ad came to an ultimate end with the revelation of Atiku and PDP’s 5 star recovery plan:
GROW OUR ECONOMY
STRENGTHEN OUR EDUCATION FOR PRODUCTIVITY
RESTRUCTURE OUR GOVERNMENT TO WORK BETTER
STRENGTHEN OUR UNION”
With campaigns now set to go ahead, the race for who will become Nigeria’s next president is heating up. The build-up to this campaign era has seen the most disruptive political involvement by Nigerians in a long time, thanks to the emergence of the Labour Party and its flag bearer Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra state.
Obi will go head-to-head with Atiku and Bola Tinubu (All Progressives Congress (APC)) when the polls go down in February 2023.
