Neve Campbell, star of hit horror movie Stream, has been selected to star in an upcoming ABC drama series titled Avalon. The actress who starred in all six installments of the popular horror franchise since the original film in 1996 announced a while ago that she would not be returning to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in the upcoming Scream 6 movie slated for release in March 2023 after receiving a disappointing salary offer to return to the franchise she helped establish, which made her feel undervalued.

According to Deadline, Campbell will now star as the lead in Avalon, a new TV series which will be produced by David E. Kelly and adapted from the short story of the same name by writer Michael Connelly. Campbell is set to play the character of Nicole Searcy, L.A Sheriff’s Department Detective who solves mysteries in the tourist city of Avalon.

Having previously worked with Kelly and Connelly in the recently concluded television series The Lincoln Lawyer, where she played the role of Margaret “Maggie” McPherson and being cast as Raven, a recurring role in the upcoming series Twisted Metal, things seem to looking up for Campbell after turning down a possible return in Scream 6.

Avalon has been picked ABC and is expected to premiere in the fall of 2023.
