The music star took to his Instagram page later on, where he appreciated everyone who supported him during the primaries in a lengthy note.
I want to thank the Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party, the PDP, for encouraging me to join the family, and empowering me to stand on our great platform,
I want to thank our party members and delegates for accepting me, for trusting me, and for giving me the go-ahead – in a landslide – to represent the great constituency of Eti-Osa, Lagos,” he wrote.
He also thanked his competitor for a healthy competition and his wife, Adesua Etomi for being by his side all through the process.
The singer was given another opportunity to contest after the party decided to have a rerun of the primaries.
He was previously declared winner of the Eti-Osa Federal House of Representatives primaries a few weeks ago, where he won twenty-eight votes while his closest opponent scoring three votes.
However, a new official result sheet surfaced online a few days later with another candidate’s name as the winner.

Banky W first announced his decision to run for the house of representatives back in November 2018.
The news was largely received by both fans and industry colleagues.
He however lost the elections to Ibrahim Obanikoro of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
