BBNaija Season 7: Should Fans Expect Another Female Winner?  

This topic has many tongues wagging every new season, with fans debating the reason why there has only been one female Big Brother Naija winner. 

With a new season drawing close, and a huge sum of 100 million worth of prizes to be won, it’s no surprise it’s a subject worth discussing. 

Mercy Eke, winning the show in 2019 gave several females all around the continent major hope, as she broke the stringent cycle of only male winners. Many inferred her winning that year to grace and luck, but would we really assume other females from past years to be unlucky?

Here’s Why and How Mercy Eke Won

To win Big Brother is a big deal and this 29-year-old entrepreneur knew she had to make an impression in order to win the hearts of fans. She immediately imprinted her name in the minds of viewers when she stole the show on the opening ceremony with her black see-through shimmer dress.

Mercy “played” the game

Big Brother Naija indeed is a game and games they say require strategy in order to succeed. But as many housemates would often recite not having a ‘strategy’, Mercy verily had one. The Imo native came well prepared for the show. She made sure to be actively involved in every highlight during the show.

From making headlines with her statement outfits, to being in a romantic relationship, to making a fuss after every Saturday night party and having multiple fights with other housemates. Mercy indeed played the game and was popularly known as the ”Queen of Highlights”.

Mercy came to win

Unlike many others, the reality Tv star did not allow factors such as having a romantic relationship deter her focus from playing the game. Like she rightly stated on the opening ceremony, “she came to win” and she did.

To whether another female can win the reality Tv show this year, possibly so, but like it was stated above, you have to win on the first day and seeing the trail of the past winners, Efe, Miracle, Laycon and Whitemoney, they all did.

Big Brother season 7 kicks off on the 23rd and 24th of July and we certainly hope a female takes the crown this time.
