David Oyelowo, one of Nigeria’s most talented exports to the British movie industry, is currently spearheading efforts to adapt the story of the Nigerian Civil War into a limited series for the BBC.
Titled Biafra, the series is expected to tell the heavy story through the eyes of a young, black British woman.
The series is a collaboration between David Oyelowo’s Yoruba Saxon Productions, Argo Films, and Fremantle.
The CEO of Argo films, Richard Johns, had this to say about the production:
“I could not have wished for a better first scripted project. It’s an incredibly powerful story about discovering and reclaiming a lost identity and a forgotten history.”
More details as they unfold.
