Former Big Brother Naija housemates, now turned stars, paid a visit to the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at his campaign office in Ikoyi.
The Ex-housemates who visited the APC candidate are Leo, DeeOne, Rico Swavey, Teddy A, Ifu Ennanda, Khloe, Lolu, and 2017 Big Brother Naija winner, Efe.
During the visit, Sanwo-Olu had promised that his administration will be investing heavily in the creative industry in order to give youths with talents opportunities to realize and build their potentials.
He also stated that the entertainment and tourism industries are the major areas his government will focus on to create jobs and sustain economic growth.
“We have started a conversation with experienced practitioners in entertainment industry, with an objective to jointly come up with a general entertainment hub where talented young people can hone their skills in theatre, music, dancing and acting. We are looking at how the private sector can partner with us to
build an entertainment destination where every Lagosian will be proud of. We are doing this to help the practitioners improve their creativity in film production, acting, and entertainment generally. We hope this investment and effort will give our young people a new lease of life in terms of upgrading their skills to something valuable”.
He advised youths to embrace hard work.
“Young people need to have the audacity to pursue their dreams, but they must have something driving them towards reaching their goals. What the government can do is to provide an enabling environment for their skills to thrive. This us what we are setting out to do if elected”.
In reaction to the courtesy visit, Sanwo-Olu said:
“We recognize the role of entertainment in harnessing the talents of our youths. Past contestants and winners of BBNaija show visited our campaign office to show their support and share their ideas for transforming Lagos. Thanks for coming guys”.
Sanwo-Olu And Lagos State Elections
Sanwo-Olu had earlier declared that Lagos state is a free state and not under any bondage. He said this in response to the remark made by Jimi Agbaje, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate.
He said that people of Lagos state are no enslaved under the APC-led administration during a consultative visit at the palace of the Akran of Badagry Aholu De Wheno Menu Toyi 1, on Sunday.
“ Some have started talking about freedom and insinuated that Lagos is in bondage…this is insulting to humanity and the people of Lagos…
We have had our freedom and everyone in Lagos is free. We have since moved away from the era of slavery, to era of prosperity with deep-seated aspiration for Lagos State…I am promising you today that Badagdy will assume her pride of place in tourism if you give us your votes.
