FIlmhouse Cinemas, the official partners partly responsible for bringing the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premiere to Lagos, Nigeria, made this revelation via their social media handle.

The media company went ahead to share a colourful image that provided more details about the new records the highly-anticipated sequel created in just a few days of showing in cinemas across the African continent.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever became the biggest industry opening weekend of all time with a box office total of ₦240 million in West Africa in just four days. 

The film has the biggest opening weekend box office of 2022 and the biggest post-pandemic opening to date in East Africa with a sum of Kes 25M.

The blockbuster has R16.5M in Southern Africa, becoming the biggest opening weekend box office of 2022. 

While it’s still too early to tell if Wakanda Forever will unseat its 2018 predecessor, these numbers are really impressive.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently showing in cinemas across Nigeria and Africa.
