Nigeria is set to bear host to the Africa premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and director Ryan Coogler is expected to be in attendance.
The highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 smash hit will first bring Wakanda to life in Lagos, Nigeria before its November 11 theatrical premiere. The premiere event is set to take place on the 6th of November and, as always, will have some of the biggest Nigerian stars in attendance.
This is the first time Marvel Studios will be having this – one of its directors stepping foot on African soil for their movie premiere.
One stone to kill two birds, Coogler is also expected to be one of the panelists at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) set to hold on the 7th of November.
Speaking about the premiere event, Chioma Ude, Founder of AFRIFF, said in a statement:
“We are excited and proud to be a part of the premiere of this milestone film here in Africa. This is huge for the continent of Africa as it symbolizes to us further bridging of the gaps between the global film industries,” she said.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premieres in theatres November 11, 2022.
