Blaqbonez has released a partly-self-directed music video for his latest single Back In Uni.
The Chocolate City rapper appears to be taking the controversial route in showcasing his creativity, referencing other artists’ work in the video he co-directs with Perliks.
The video begins with Bonez crashing a wedding photograph session. He appears uninvited and picks out one flower from the bride’s bouquet before beating the bridesmaids to catching the corsage, refusing to let go.
Some of the visual references in the video include the cover art for Wizkid’s latest single ‘Bad to Me‘ and Asake’s famous white suit and grill teeth scene from the ‘Bandana‘ music video. Bonez donned the suit and grill teeth to interrupt a nuptial vow exchange, with the popular theme “Dem never see me comin'” in mind.
Prior to the video’s release, Blaqbonez mentioned it would break the internet. Now we know why!
