My Village People is a Nigerian dark comedy film directed by Niyi Akinmolayan and executive produced by FilmOne Entertainment and The Temple Company.
The story follows Prince, an atheist and a womanizer. After returning to his local village for his sister’s wedding, Prince finds himself being hunted by forces that he struggles to escape due to his selfish and womanizing ways.
The film which made its theatrical debut in June features a star-studded cast, which includes veteran actors Nkem Owoh, Charles Inojie, Amaechi Muonagor, Rachael Oniga (Lt.), and Ada Ameh, alongside more recent faces Bovi Ugboma, Zubby Michael, Theresa Edem, and Venita Akpofure.
It has now spent 12 weeks in cinemas, grossing more than N100 million and becoming only the 17th Nigerian entry in history to reach the milestone.
According to reports, My Village People has so far grossed a record N100,118,350, after spending a dozen weeks in the Nigerian Box Office.
