An injury time header from Super Eagles striker, Paul Onauchu was enough to hand Nigeria the win against the resolute Squirrels of Benin of Republic in their African Cup of Nations Qualifications Campaign. The Eagles had qualified for the tournament set to hold in Cameroon next year when Sierra Leone failed to win Lesotho in the other group encounter.

The win takes the Super Eagles top of Group L with 11 points after 3 wins and 2 draws. The Nigerian team, led by German tactician Gernot Rohr, finished 3rd place in the last edition of the tournament held in Egypt. Despite an underwhelming campaign, fans would expect that the Eagles turn things around from here and have a decent campaign next year. They are next in action on Tuesday, March 30, where they will face-off with ‘out of the race’ Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Surulere, Lagos. Legos resident, go cheer the Super Eagles Up!
