The family of late veteran Nigerian comic actor Babatunde Omidina, Baba Suwe as he was fondly called, has announced plans for his funeral rites.
Baba Suwe’s death was confirmed on Monday November 23, by his son Adesola via a social media post.
In a statement released by him on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 on behalf of the Omidina family, the the funeral rites will commence on Thursday, 25th November.
“Burial Rite of Babatunde Omidina “Babasuwe” will commence at his residence (Elepe) @ Babasuwe’s House on Thursday 11/25/21 @ 10 am prompt. Age: 63 years,” wrote Adesola.
“The final Funeral ceremony will be announced later! Survived by: Children, Grandchildren, Mother and family! Signed by: Adesola Omidina. (For the Omidina Family). 11/23/21”
Born on August 22, 1958, in Inabere Street in Lagos Island where he grew up, Baba Suwe starred in several hit Yoruba TV shows and films including Omolasan, Iru Esin, Baba Londoner, Baba Jaiye Jaiye, and many more. Many dignitaries from the Nigerian and African film industry will be expected at his funeral, to pay their last respects to the legendary actor.
