Burna Boy has blamed infrastructure deficiency for causing the long delay at his “Lagos Loves Damini” concert, which held on New Year’s Day 2023. Concertgoers had turned up in mass for the show’s advertised 6 p.m kickoff only for Burna and his team to arrive at about 10 p.m.
Aggrieved fans took to social media to bemoan the incident, and Burna’s arrival was met with boos and jeers from the crowd. However, the singer has shared a personal note to fans on Instagram, blaming a lack of grade A equipment required to deliver the kind of experience his team and him prides themselves in, for causing the controversy.
He called out show organisers, including Wonder X and Olisa Aduba for their part in the delay. He also added that he will not be holding any concerts in Lagos until something is done about the lack of infrastructure. Check out the message below.

Nonetheless, Wonder X released a public statement, judging the concert as hugely successful. According to him, there were over 30,000 people in attendance, with about 11,000 cars registered in the parking lot for the event.
