2022 MTV EMAs: Burna Boy crowned Best African Act — See full list of winners

At the 2022 MTV EMA (European Music Awards) that took place Sunday night (November 15) in Dusseldorf, Germany, Nigerian megastar Burna Boy won the prize for the Best African Act.

Burna Boy was nominated alongside Ayra Starr, Black Sheriff, Tems, Zuchu and Musa Keyz.

Meanwhile Tems lost the Best New Act prize to South Korean group Seventeen. Nigerian disc Jockey and prolific producer DJ Spinall performed his new single “Poweralongside Äyanna & Nasty C.

The star-studded event was hosted by British Pop star Rita Ora and the movie maker Taika Waititi. It featured performances from David Guetta & Bebe Rexa, Skepta, Lewis Capaldi and others.

American superstar Taylor Swift was the biggest winner on the night, bagging prizes for Best Video, Best Pop, and Best Longform Video.
