Ever since the President Muhammadu Buhari led regime, there’s been an up-surge in the number of separatist groups calling for the division of Nigeria.
Made worse by cries of marginalisation, terrorist attacks, and herdsmen crises that have plagued all parts of the country, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been one of the more serious groups agitating for independence from Nigeria.
Veteran Nigerian actor Chiwetalu Agu was spotted donning a Biafran flag imprinted outfit. He joins a growing list of celebrities showing solidarity towards the proscribed separatist group.
Back in July this year, Nollywood actress and fellow easterner Rita Edochie appealed to the government to release Nnamdi Kanu, the apparent leader and spokesperson of IPOB following his capture.
Kanu is a Nigerian pro-Biafra political activist, who has been under the custody of the Nigerian government for months now.
The actress, however, wasn’t the only celebrity to openly advocate for Kanu’s release.
Popular Enugu based rapper Zoro also made a plea for the release of the former radio Biafra presenter and activist.
