Cuba Gooding Jr. reportedly struck a deal with prosecutors to keep him away from jail and that included admitting to forcefully kissing at woman at a New York City nightclub in 2018.
The actor had been accused of violating three different women at various Manhattan nightspots in 2018 and 2019 and faces up to a one-year jail term if he fails to comply with the agreement made with the prosecutor.
The cases had dragged on for years as the actor’s lawyers sort ot see them dismissed or watered down to the barest charge possible.
Speaking up, Cuba Gooding Jr. pled guilty to one allegation but apologised to the other two women.
“I apologize for making anybody ever feel inappropriately touched. I am a celebrity figure. I come into contact with people. I never want them to feel slighted or uncomfortable in any way,” the Hollywood star said.
The latest deal with the prosecutors allows Gooding to avoid any possibility of jail time.
There’s still a pending charge of rape accusation hanging around the Oscar-winning actor’s head. A $6 million civil lawsuit by a woman allegeding that Gooding Jr. raped her twice in 2013 at the Mercer Hotel in Manhattan’s SoHo district after the actor had invited her over for drinks.
