After an extensive tour of the global film festival circuit and successful premiere last Sunday at the EbonyLife Place, Victoria Island, Lagos, Eyimofe: This is My Desire, is now in cinemas.



About Eyimofe
The film takes a deep dive into the pressures of everyday life in Nigeria, the desperate measures people take to survive and, the unrelenting desire to migrate abroad at any cost, in the belief of a better life.
It stars Jude Akuwudike as Mofe and Temi Ami-Williams as Rosa. Mofe is a stoic electrician and part-time security man while Rosa, is a struggling hairdresser and part-time bartender, both on a quest to move abroad. However, things take sudden turn as Mofe loses his family meanwhile Rosa fails to live up to the expectations and promise which she made to Mofe.
Eyimofe opened to extremely positive reviews from critics and was screened at various global international film festivals in 17 countries, resulting in praise from critics and industry media for debut directors, Arie and Chuko Esiri.

According to the Executive Producer, Toke Alex Ibru, Eyimofe has exceeded expectations, adding: “We’ve been encouraged by the tremendous reception the film has received in London, Berlin, São Paolo (Brazil), Los Angeles and other cities.
“It’s really exciting to bring Eyimofe home to Nigeria and see how audiences react to seeing our lives portrayed on screen in such a realistic way.”
