Barely 24hrs after his death was confirmed by his family members, Nigerian musical icon Sound Sultan has been laid to rest according to Islamic funeral rites. Born Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi on November 27, 1976, Sound Sultan died aged 44 after battling with cancer of the lymphatic system.
The ceremony took place at he Marlboro Muslim cemetery in New Jersey, USA on Sunday, July 11. Among those present at the funeral were his wife, Farida, other family members, and a few close allies including singer and rapper Olamide who was seen consoling Fasasi’s widow in one of the pictures that surfaced online.
Chichi Morah, now known as Farida Fasasi and Sound Sultan tied the knot in 2009 and had three children together.
May the soul of Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi aka Sound Sultan rest in peace.
