Adekunle Gold and Simi celebrated their 3rd year in marriage on 13th Jan. 2022. The long-time lovers continue to hold it down- showing that celebrity marriages can work after-all.

They celebrated one another on social media; Simi writing, “3 years and you’re still the one I love oooh the one that I belong tooooo still the one I kiss goodnight. I love you my boy. I thank you for this journey. God really working overtime with us.”

She continued, “A wise man once said “luckily oh mo lowo ti mo fe na”. I look forward to spending your money and rubbing your body forever kingofphotoshop. Amen.”

Adekunle Gold, as we’ve come to know is never the one to shy away from his romantic responsibilities to his singer wife. He too dropped his own eulogy, saying, “I thank God for the best 3 years of our lives. Doing this life journey with you is by far the best decision I have ever made. Thank you baby for changing my life forever. I love you Magic.”

There’s so much to admire about the couple’s storied love journey, and how they’ve come from small beginnings. Thematically, they did the song justice with the visuals, almost as though they merged two worlds together- life as musicians and real life, of course.

2. Promise (2019)

The release of “Promise” coincided with the year Simi and Adekunle Gold tied the knot at a secret ceremony. In fact, some of the visuals of the song were cutouts from their actual wedding. And just like the title, for the couple, the journey began, until death do them part.

3. By You (2019)

2019’s “By You” is Simi and Adekunle Gold’s honeymoon brainchild. Of course, the video starts with Simi, sitting beside AG Baby and delightfully flashing her wedding ring. It’s a collaboration that affirms their friendship, even in marriage.

4. Bite The Dust (2021)

“Bite The Dust” is a bedroom freestyle from the power couple, and although this could have been between two people without any romantic connections, it does show the creative power and connection that Simi and Adekunle Gold wields.

5. Sinner (2021)

Adekunle Gold was rumoured to have cheated on Simi in early 2021. However, the couple chose to not feed the media with gossip, responding with golden silence and the allegations stayed ‘mere rumours.” However, Adekunle Gold’s transformation to Simi’s very own “bad boy” led him to a creative journey of taking a little jibe at critics, first in “It Is What it Is,” followed by “Sinner,” where he hints at his continued desire to love his wife.
