happy man listening music scaled

There’s been a lot of fresh song releases in the build up to this weekend, not forgetting that Laycon dropped his debut album yesterday, April 30. So many good musicians including upcoming and household names dropping good songs here and there. Streaming services are basically flooded with quality content, it’s hard to satisfy nostalgia without missing out.
That said, it’s sad but, we cannot listen to everything. Here are a few of the fresh hot songs to keep your weekend groovy.

Burna Boy- ‘Kilometre’

Odogwu is back with a bang. Kilometre. Fresh from his success at the Grammys and making the cover of British magazine: GQ, the boy dun really waka many kilometres. It’s not bragging, if it’s true… Burna talks about his growing influence in the games, affirming that he’s become a master and teacher in the game.

Billie Elish-  ‘Your Power’

19-year-old Billie Elish sparked rumours of romance with actor, Matthew Tyler Vorce a weekend ago when they were spotted getting cozy while running errands in Santa Barbara, California. Here the multiple-Grammys-winning-Wizkid talks about being in a relationship with massive imbalance of power. It’s the first song of her forthcoming LP, Happier Than Ever, dropping in July.

BlaqBones ft Joeboy- Fendi

Love to see it, so much promise and talent coming together to ensure our ears don’t run out of good stuff to listen to. Here, Blaq shows he can pretty much do everything from singing to constructing hardcore punchlines and mesmerising wordplays, while Joeboy- Joeboy continues to be Wonderboy.

Lojay and Sarz- ‘Tonogo’

Name a producer that can beat Sarz when he’s ready for war, I’ll wait. Lojay- watch out for this guy. I won’t mention names but, only one guy has ever done this much justice to a Sarz beat. Put tight vocals, flow, melody and rhythm, hardcore rhymes and a wicked beat together, and you get Tonogo.

Manifest- ‘Confusion’

Ghanian rapper, Manifest connives with British-Ghanian DJ, Juls to commit this heavy crime against mediocrity and monotony. Trust Manifest to always deliver wickedly, and Juls- Just don’t make mediocre beats. Whether you’re driving, catching up with friends or looking to move your body, this Jam got you.

Justin Skye and Rema- ‘Twisted Fantasy’

American-singer Justin Skye team up in this raunchy song about love and lust. The song is off her forthcoming EP, Space and Time.

King Perry ft Timaya- ‘Get the Money’

Perry talks about his motivations to work hard, and when the success comes, the girls and love follow, while Chulo affirms the importance of focus and determination. The jam is off Perry’s album, Citizen of The World.

Eni- Wait

After dropping a 4-track EP, Z, in 2020, Eni comes back with a bang on ‘Wait’. Give the boy a good beat and you’re sure to get a better song. Here he talks about several things including the pressures of hustling, expecting money, looking for love, being famous, fake love, being talented, and his fantasies.

Laycon ft YKB- Fall for Me

Produced by Semzi, and off the fresh ‘Shall We Begin,’ ‘Fall for Me’ combines good sound with impressive vocals, delivery, and an easy-to-sing-along hook. Here, Laycon talks about his desire for a muse, someone to fulfil his fantasies with.

Adekunle Gold- It is What it Is

AG baby, is your baby, anytime. One thing you cannot deny about this guy’s career is his astonishing level of consistency. Here he talks about the value of peace of mind, addresses critics but cautions himself to mellow before he joins their hypocritical bandwagon. This is music for every moment, although it refreshingly keeps your mind conscious of reality.

Happy Weekend, Enjoy Listening.
