House of the Dragon will tell the story of House Targaryen around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. It’s the hay days of the Targaryens, when they ruled over the Seven Kingdoms.

The series is set to premiere on HBO Max come August 21.

The 10-episode prequel series will depict how the House of Targaryen fell into a civil war better known by those who’ve read the G.R.R.M books as the Dance of the Dragons.

House of the Dragon

House of the Dragon was created by author George R. R. Martin and Ryan J. Condal, based on Martin’s novel “Fire & Blood.”

The series boosts of popular names in the industry, like Matt Smith, Emmy D’Arcy, Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans, Olivia Cooke, among others.

Game of Thrones was one of the most popular shows ever during its time on air, but its well maligned final season might rub off on how fans get to quickly accept House of the dragon, a spin-off we know is going to be the first of many more.
