Hugh Jackman Is Making His Return As Wolverine In ‘Deadpool 3’

The one true Wolverine, Hugh Jackman is set to make his return as well as his formal introduction into the MCU in Deadpool 3. Hugh Jackman held down the wolverine role for nearly two decades following his first appearance in the first X-men film in 2000. Jackman’s last appearance as Wolverine was in 2017’s Logan, considered by many to be the most fitting of Swansongs, bade farewell to the character and introduced us to X-23(Dafne Keen), Logan’s biological daughter which seemed to be the future of the character.

In a surprising turn of events though not entirely unexpected, Ryan Reynold’s Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman’s Logan will be sharing the big screens again, this time in Deadpool 3 which will be a part of the MCU. The two first appeared together in X-men: Wolverine Origins released in 2009 to poor reviews from both critics and audiences and famously kept Wade Wilson’s mouth shut, literally. Following the success of Deadpool and the occasional tease of the X-men in previous movies, fans have since wished that the two would cross paths again, and now, that wish will soon be granted.

Ryan Reynolds in the most ‘Ryan Reynolds’ way possible announced last night that Jackman’s Wolverine will be officially returning in Deadpool 3 scheduled to hit theatres on September 6, 2024. The confirmation made through a video posted on twitter showed Reynolds admitting to lack of ideas for Deadpool 3 and then so casually asking Jackman if he would like to return, to which he replied, “Yeah, sure Ryan.” See the video below;

It’s obviously too early to tell how he would be introduced, especially considering the fact that we already saw Wolverine die in Logan, but hey, the MCU now resides in a Multiverse of Madness, anything is possible, after all we already saw Professor Xavier make his return.

If the X-mem and Wolverine fans deserve one thing, it’s to see Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in his traditional suit so like many others, the announcement of his return has me as psyched as ever.
