Nigerian actor, Gabriel Afolayan has squared up to an alleged fan who called the actor underrated, replying that he loves good stories.
If you’re making a list of fine Nollywood actors, you have to include Gabriel Afolayan. Not only do the Afolayan’s dominate Nigeria’s film and TV industry, but their creative talent stretches to the music industry as well.
The actor has been receiving a lot of love from fans on Twitter for his performance in Gold Statue. He starred as the lead character, Wale Esho, a youth corper from a reputable family who ditches service and deliberately goes to prison to carry out a grand heist of a gold statue that reportedly worths $500 million.
Afolayan’s response was fitting, correcting the misconception that his limited feature in movies is because of a perceived undervaluation of his acting talents. The musician, actor, and Africa Movie Academy Awards winner rose to prominence in the Wale Adenuga produced television series ‘Super Story’.
Gold Statue was directed by Tade Ogidan’s and is available for streaming on Netflix.
