Last week was stuffed with tragic news, drama and plenty social media shenanigans of course. Starting with the burial ceremony in Oba, Anambra state that’s been trending and the Lagos flooding on Friday July 16.
If you didn’t know, protests and unrests rocked South Africa following the incarceration of former president Jacob Zuma for crimes of corruption. Elsewhere in Western Europe, in Germany, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Belgium, floods have forced thousands of people out of their homes, claiming more than a hundred and fifty lives, with dozens of people still missing. Meaning the death toll could potentially rise.
In Canada, the entire town of Lytton has been evacuated due to a wildfire that was reportedly started by a lightening, after temperatures hit over 50 degrees Celsius in North-western America about two weeks ago. Currently, there are wildfires in Vancouver, California, Oregon and 9 other states across North America.
The Nigerian government are about to do the unthinkable. With a budget of almost five billion naira, the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration has set sights on tracking and decoding WhatsApp messages sent by Nigerians. Not forgetting that another six billion naira was recently set out for ranching pilots in Kastina state. Wisdom or corruption-dom? That one na for your pocket, e no concern Buhari.

Musician Kizz Daniel recently had triplet boys but unfortunately one of them died after birth. The singer made this known on Instagram when he shared the news, he recently purchased a two-bedroom luxury apartment for his two sons. However, Daniel also shared the acquisition documents containing the full address to the property. That’s a little weird, right? Unless of course the singer want us to come pay homage to them, or there are no plans for them to live there. At least, not with all that’s going on in the country right now.

Space Jam: A New Legacy dropped this weekend and shattered Black Widow’s record as feature with the biggest global financial opening since the return of people to theatres. Funke Akindele and Bisola’s Dwindle also opened to cinemas this weekend. Other new titles include Gunpowder Milkshake and Dr Death.
Disney+ and Marvel Cinematic Universe series, Loki finally aired it’s last episode on Wednesday and ushered in a maze of possibilities for the MCU. It was of course, mixed feelings for some of us viewers but Marvel and Disney+ seem unconcerned and have renewed the show for another season.
