Award winning production company, Play Network Studios has acquired intellectual property right of another Nollywood classic, Diamond Ring.
Play Network Studios has been the brain behind classic sequels like ‘Living in Bondage: Breaking Free’, ‘Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story’, ‘Nneka the Pretty Serpent’, the forthcoming, ‘Glamour Girls’ and ‘Osuofia Goes to Miami’.
CEO of Play Network Africa, Charles Okpaleke revealed on Instagram that unlike previous movies from the “Play Network Nostalgic collection”, this will be a remake and not a sequel. And, it may be the last.
“Play Network studios has just acquired the intellectual property rights to this Nollywood classic “Diamond Ring”.
“This would be a Remake and not a Sequel.
This might probably be the last movie under the “Play Network Nostalgic collection”. He wrote.
Directed by Tade Ogidan, the 1998 classic “Diamond Ring” starred veteran actors, Liz Benson, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bimbo Akintola, Bukky Ajayi, and more.
It follows the story of conflict between the spirit of Mrs. Gladys and members of Chidi’s cult group, XG. The cult get gets involved as perpetrators in a mortuary theft and this in turn comes with gruesome repercussions.
