Ifan Micahel took to his Instagram handle to break the news that his 2017 film Lotanna is one of the latest Nollywood titles to join the growing rank on Amazon Prime Video.
Lotanna is a period piece story about a young man (Chris Okagbue), who discovers that he has to offset a huge debt owed by his father before his sudden death, to a fearful loan shark called Don Cleff. Aided by an unbreakable resolve to succeed, his friends and his musical talent, he must find a way to solve this unfairly inherited problem or die trying.
About the streaming premiere, the filmmaker said:
“It is with great pleasure that I announce my foray into the filmmaking space, Lotanna, would be streaming on Amazon Prime from tomorrow, June 1st.
“Lotanna is easily the most special project I’ve ever embarked on for reasons too many to mention and it is my proudest work till date.
“Please endeavor to watch it when you can to see my little beginnings and sweat and labour of my esteemed cast and crew members.”
Lotanna was scripted by Kemi Adesoye and directed by Toka McBaror. The movie stars Chris Okagbue, Liz Benson, Ama Abebrese, Victor Olaitan, and Jide Kosoko. It premieres on Prime Video today, June 1, 2022.
