The former director-general of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation’s, who was also a past govenor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, yesterday made it known that he is being forced by his supporters to lead them to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
Gbenga Daniel who announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and also retirement from partisan politics, had a meeting at his Sagamu residence with his supporters who told him that they were satisfied with his decision to leave PDP but would be grateful to him if he (Gbenga), leads them to the ruling party.
In his words, the former governor said, “Basically, they said I could resign from PDP… they said I must lead them to APC and they also said I could not retire from politics. That is the summary of what I heard.”
Hence, when asked if he was ready to join APC, Gbenga Daniel said, “What else can I say? My people have spoken.”
