Ini Edo Opens Up on Having a Child Through Surrogacy

The actress confirms her motherhood status and affirms that her main focus is taking care of her child and running her businesses

Nollywood actress and director, Ini Edo has finally voiced out concerning the recent rumors on her being a mother.

Speaking in a recent exclusive interview with Stella Dimoko Korkus, the actress shared the big news, detailing the surrogacy process, talking on marriage and debunking the rumors on her friend, Kome being the baby’s father.

Confirming her motherhood status, Ini said, “Yes I do have a daughter and I had her through surrogacy. The eggs are mine and so genetically, she’s my blood. I chose this path to fulfill my dream of becoming a mother.”

When asked about the identity of the father, the actress revealed that she opted for a donor to avoid controversies.

She said “I opted for a donor for me and my baby’s peace of mind. Another major reason I opted for a donor is because it scares me so much when I see banter and controversies between a mother and a father over a baby in public forums or when I see the man insisting he wants his child if things dont work out between both parties..”

Speaking on the married man, Kome being the father of her child, she asserted that “it is a lie from the pit of hell”, establishing that he has only been her friend for years.

The 39-year-old movie star mentioned how she felt becoming a mother, terming it “an awesome feeling and experience”. She also added that marriage isn’t her priority, and her main focus being, taking care of her child and running her businesses. You can read full interview here.

The actress was previously married to ex-husband Philip Ehiagwina for six years. Their marriage ended in September, 2014 citing irresolvable differences and incompatibility.
