Sometime in 2019, a movie was teased to be the next best thing since sliced bread came into Nollywood – it was Ifan Michael’s Foreigner’s God.
It wasn’t an exaggeration going by all the teasers and photo stills we received during that period, this movie looked good. The only problem was that we kept on waiting yet it didn’t seem to be forthcoming. Well, it looks like all that is about to change as Foreigner’s God has (quietly) debuted on Amazon Prime Video.

Foreigner’s God is set in colonial Nigeria. An English documentary photographer in search of a story falls in love with an accused witch living under subhuman conditions. You can only imagine the drama that’ll follow. In terms of acting performances, the movie has some of the biggest and brightest names in Nollywood attached to it: Eucharia Anunobi, Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwenu, Ini Dima-Okojie, Lala Akindoju, Toyin Abraham, Henry Brinton Coxe, Sam Dede, and Linda Osifo, to mention but a few.
The movie is directed by Ifan Ifeanyi Michael, a budding film talent known for Lotanna (2017), among other film projects.
No official announcement has been made by ANYONE attached to this project. A part of me believes this is because they’re probably fatigued over the long delay and wouldn’t want to count their chicks before they hatch. But if the Amazon Prime Video icon that appears when the movie project is looked up on Google search engine is anything to go by, fans may finally get the chance to see this movie sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed.

Foreigner’s Gods is the latest Nollywood production to (quietly) join the rank of titles at Amazon Prime Video.
