Since Nigerian singing sensation Divine Ikubor, professionally known as Rema made his debut in 2013, he’s been on the rise despite not having any studio album till now. At just 21, Rema has enjoyed both critical and commercial success, thanks to the guidance of Don Jazzy and the Mavin Records family.
Rema’s debut studio album entitled “Rave and Roses” will release digitally on the 25th of March, and ahead of its premiere, the singer took to Twitter on Tuesday, March 22, to remind fans of his commitment and hardwork towards making sure that they enjoy his music.
According to the “Calm Down” singer, he has confidently distinguished himself as a creator.
“I’ve taught you guys for 3 years with my releases not to have expectations when it comes to me. As you listen to the Album embrace the light, trust me I will not take my time in the studio to convince anyone. I’ve confidently distinguished myself as a creator. #RaveAndRoses,” wrote the singer.

In a time when hype and clout both help intellectual properties excel commercially, Rema’s tweet might come in handy to drive conversations around “Rave and Roses.” Many modern artists use this tactics and succeed.
However, Rema has indeed earned critical acclaim both at local and international level. He’s collaborated with a dozen of foreign acts, including Skepta and AJ Tracey.
In summer of 2019, former United States President Barrack Obama revealed that Rema’s song “Iron Man” was part of his summer playlist. He’s was also featured in EA Sports’ FIFA22 video game alongside Skepta and JAE5.
