Janitor in the making? Ibadan Man to wash toilet for 30 days for rudeness to court

An Ile-Tuntun customary court in Ibadan on Wednesday, 17th March, ordered a man, Jimoh Falola, to wash public toilets for 30 days for being rude to the court. In his ruling, the President of the court, Chief Henry Agbaje stated that Mr Falola had no regard for constituted authority following his assault on the court during sitting.

As a result, Mr Falola was given his marching orders. “He is ordered to embark on 30-day community service which includes clearing the bush, sweeping the cutting, road sweeping, and washing of public toilets,” continued Agbaje. The arbitrator subsequently adjourned the case until March 29 for a hearing. It was reported that Opeyemi filed a divorce suit against her estranged husband, Falola, who refused to appear on two sittings. When the defendant finally appeared, it was revealed by the jury that he accused the court workers of accepting money from his wife as an inducement to rule in her favour.
