Not much is known about the film’s plot so far asides for it being a musical and it taking place in Arkham Asylum which the Joker was being transported to in the final moments of the first film. Though the original film was loosely based on the standalone comic Batman: The Killing Joke, Phillips has always reiterated that they never turn to existing media for inspirations so we can expect the sequel to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.
Joker: Foil a Deux is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024 with filming set to commence in December this year.
