Nigerian entertainment power couple Adekunle and Simisola Kosoko a.k.a. Adekunle Gold and Simi are celebrating their daughter Deja’s one-year birthday today, May 30. Adekunle and Simi had been secretly dating for a long time, though the latter sparked several romance rumours with various male artists. It didn’t take long for them to tie the knot after their relationship was officially confirmed and the couple has waxed strong since their union, welcoming their first child Adejare Kosoko in May 2020.
Celebrating the occasion, both parents took to social media to share beautiful and adorable pictures of 1-year-old Deja. But for Adekunle, Instagram wasn’t enough he had to share the awe that surrounded the fact he’s the father of a 1-year-old. In the tweet, AG said “Just like that, i’m a father of a one year old! My Deja is ONE,” ending the write up with a heart emoji.
As for Simi, it’s celebration galore for the singer as her mother shares the same birthday with Deja. However, she decided to start the party a day earlier, celebrating her mother on Instagram with a heartwarming message on Saturday, May 29.
In the first of two posts she made on Instagram to celebrate daughter Deja, Simi could not hold back her joy in becoming a mother. She described Deja as “climber of my body, sleep stopper. scatterer of my things, best dancer, and blessing bringer.” She also added that Deja is Lil Miss I-have-a-mind-of-my-own. The sweet names were endless, adding that for Deja, she would do anything. She ended the caption with “Your dad and I are so proud of you. He looks at you often and says to me “Baby, look what we made.” And really, look what we made. Happy birthday baby.”
In Simi’s second post, Deja sported a beautiful peach-coloured gown in the first of two photos. Her shiny black hair was packed in two ways and adorned by same-colour fabric flower. The second photograph was a mother and daughter affair, with Simi and Deja rocking the same peach coloured outfits.
Adekunle Gold also shared a photograph of him and Deja on Instagram. The father and daughter rocked light pink jackets and white trousers. It’s an iconic father and daughter pose, with the singer carrying Deja as she gazed at what seems like the angle of the shot while AG stared at her glowing face and eyes that shined like twin suns. “Turn up with my baby today,” he captioned the post.
Happy Birthday to Adejare Kosoko. We cannot wait for her to grow up, and knowing how talented Adekunle Gold and Simi are, we are certain she is going to be a genius, a world-beater.
