The Kunle Afolayan Production (KAP) Film and Television Academy has partnered with Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works to create the KAP e-Learning App for Film & TV production enthusiasts.

If you’re passionate about film and television production, this application is for you. It’s open to young men and women between the ages of 20 and 35 across Nigeria. Via this initiative, the KAP Academy hopes to train a total of 300,000 young Nigerians over the next three years.

Renowned Film Director and Founder of the KAP Academy, Kunle Afolayan revealed the program will kick-off this May 2022 and that candidates from low-income backgrounds will make up 40% of those admitted. He also opined that the selection process will take into consideration a gender balance ratio to allow for adequate participation of women

“The academy is focused on growing the next generation of skilled filmmakers through the tutelage of veterans and film professionals who provide hands-on experience in diverse aspects of filmmaking to enrolled students,” Afolayan stated.

The KAP Academy training will leverage smartphone technology and will hold via the KAP e-Learning app. It’ll include ‘The Masterclass Series’ and two levels of certification from professional institutions in the areas of screenwriting, sound, editing, directing, cinematography, and production design, among others, as well as practical hands-on training.
