Known fondly as the Center of Excellence by most indigenes, it is a well-known fact that Eko – Lagos state – is the hub for art and culture. It seems that Google knows this as the internet powerhouse highlights the city’s creative brilliance in its Arts and Culture section.
To pique your interest, here are some highlights from the collaborative project.
Explore the Capital of Cool: City Tour with Folorunsho Coker

The Director-General of Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Folorunsho Coker, highlights seven interesting places to visit in Lagos. From the floating city of Makoko to the Epe fish market, these spots all show the diverse cultural life of Lagos.
Eko ni Wa / We are Lagosian

This is probably one of my favorite sections from the Eko for Show project. Here, ten female authors [Jumoke Verissimo, Unoma Azuah, Lola Shoneyin, Sefi Atta, Precious Arinze, Chika Unigwe, Molara Wood, Sarah Ladipo Manyika, Ope Adedeji, and Ukamaka Olisakwe] share their personal Lagos story.
Rocking Afrobeat

The project also has a Q&A session with some of Lagos’ big-name Afrobeat stars. Here, Terra Kulture’s Bolanle Austin-Peters interviews the stars on their creative journey and goals. Some of the artists she sits down with include Skepta, Teni, and Kizz Daniel.
Pick Your Lagos: Eat the Food
All my foodies can agree that Nigerian food is the best…argue with your papa. This section of the project highlights all the unique, beautiful flavors and cuisine Lagos has to offer. It includes markets to visit as well as recipes to try.
These highlights are just the tip of the iceberg. Eko for Show has over 8000 photographs, three street view experiences, and 175 videos. To check out the full experience, go to http://g.co/ekoforshow.
